This is a short video that discusses which are the best tomatoes to grow at home in your garden and gives you the reasons why, some of the suggestions include cherry tomatoes (sweet one hundred), patio type tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes like BrandyWine or Cherokee Purple.
The main benefit of heirloom tomatoes are two fold, firstly they taste great and secondly the seeds can be used to grow a new crop of tomatoes the following year. It doesn’t get better than that when you are a tomato grower.
So for best flavor choose Heirloom they don’t travel well but it shouldn’t be too far from your garden to your table so that doesn’t really matter and don’t worry what they look like if you are after flavour. And just so you know, my personal favourite is the Sioux variety, very tasty.
